Masa Soup (Corn dough Soup)

  • 2 TBSP Masa Harina +
  • 1 Onion, shredded
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 Can Chicken soup
  • 1 Can evaporated milk
  • 1.5 Cups chick peas
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 Cup cream
  • Valentina Red Picante Salsa +
  • Chopped coriander

This Sopa de Masa is rich and comforting, perfect for a cozy meal. The dissolved Masa Harina thickens the soup, giving it a smooth and creamy consistency.

It can be customised with variuos ingredients like vegetables, meats or beans, allowing for creativity and adaptation to different tastes and dietary needs.

Serves 4

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a casserole, melt the butter and fry the onion until transparent. Then add the Masa Harina and fry for a few more minutes.
  2. Add the chicken soup and stirr constantly until thickened. (5 minutes aprox).
  3. Add the evaporated milk and chick peas.
  4. Season with salt. Lower heat, cover and simmer (do not boil).
  5. Lastly, add the curry.
  6. Serve in individual bowls, drizzle with the cream and coriander and let each guest add a couple of drops of salsa in their soup.
