Masa Harina Consommé

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Masa Harina +
  • A pinch od Salt
  • 1/4 Kg Ground beef
  • 1 Cube Knorrox beef flavour
  • 5 Cups water
  • 1/2 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lime
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Red Habanero Salsa for topping +

A delicious take on the traditional consommé that blends the deep, rich flavours of a meat broth with the comforting texture of Mexican-style dumplings.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a deep pot, brown the onion and mince.
  2. Add water and seasoning cube. Bring to a boil.
  3. On a separate bowl, mix the Masa Harina with 1 cup of water and the pinch of salt. Knead with your hands until you get a smooth dough.
  4. Make 2 cm diameter balls with the masa and make a small dip in the middle of each dough ball. Add to the boiling soup. Once cooked, the consommé will be ready to serve.
  5. Drizzle a few drops of lime juice and the salsa of your choice. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
